BP® Welder's Comfort Welding Bib & Brace 2611-834-5632
Protective bib & brace for welding, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment. Top welding protection class at a lower weight and greater comfort than the aramid models.
KG 065 fabric: 43% modacrylic, 40% cotton, 9% lyocell, 7% polyamide, 1% antistatic fibre
Modacrylic provides flame resistance at fibre level — it does not wash out, unlike garments relying on a flame-retardant finish. Cotton and lyocell handle breathability and moisture management; polyamide adds abrasion resistance.
The bib & brace covers not only the legs but also the torso, protecting the stomach and chest without an additional layer. Design detail: narrow reflective piping along the seams — a trim feature rather than a protective property; the garment has not been tested for a class under EN ISO 20471.
Protection
• EN ISO 11611:2015, Class 2-A1 — welding and allied processes, the higher of the two classes.
• EN ISO 11612:2015 — A1, B1, C1, E2, F1 — heat and flame. E2 is the middle level of protection against molten iron splashes: the fabric withstands 120 to 200 grams of molten metal.
• IEC 61482-2, APC 1 — electric arc, 4 kA with a duration of 500 ms.
• EN 1149-5 in conjunction with EN 1149-3 — antistatic properties.
Under normal welding conditions the fabric offers limited insulation against DC voltage of up to approximately 100 V.
How it differs from the 830 aramid line
Level E2 rather than E3 for molten metal splashes. If the work involves heavy molten metal spatter, choose the aramid models 2660, 2662, 2670, 2671. For all other welding tasks, Welder's Comfort delivers the same welding Class 2 at a lower price and with greater comfort.
Who it suits
Welders, fitters, maintenance mechanics, power industry staff and production environments with a risk of brief flame contact.
Important to know
This garment is not electrically insulating as per EN 50286. Additional personal protective equipment is required. The garment must not be removed or opened in an explosive atmosphere. Wearing protective clothing can cause heat stress — maximum working times and sufficient breaks must be observed.
Care and storage
Check seams and fastenings before each use. Avoid contact with paint, varnishes and acids. Store in a dry, dust-free place away from direct sunlight, in light-proof packaging.
