BP® Softshell Work Jacket 1874-572-56
Work jacket 1874-572-56. Wind stays out, water rolls off, sweat gets out. Three things an ordinary jacket manages at best by halves.
Article 1874-572-56: Fabric: 100% polyester outer and lining, 100% polyurethane membrane, 300 gsm
Softshell is three layers bonded into one cloth. Hard-wearing polyester outside, warming fleece inside, and a BP_protection® polyurethane membrane between them.
The membrane works one way: from outside it blocks wind and repels water, from inside it lets water vapour out. That is why you can work physically in a softshell without getting wet from within — which is not the case in a windproof jacket without a membrane.
What that gives you
The jacket covers the whole shoulder season, from autumn damp to spring wind. In winter it works as a mid layer under outerwear. The fleece inside warms without the bulk that gets in the way of work.
Construction
Stand-up collar. Concealed front zip — not a single metal component on the outside to scratch or freeze. Smartphone pocket on the sleeve. Two chest pockets, one of them a double. A pen compartment. Two roomy zipped side pockets. Cuffs with wind protection. Internal hem adjustment and an extended back — the lower back stays covered when you bend.
Armlift system: the sleeves are cut so the jacket does not ride up when you raise your arms.
Design detail: there are reflective inserts. This is a trim feature rather than a protective property — the garments have not been tested to EN ISO 20471 and are not high-visibility clothing.
Industrial laundering
Suitability confirmed to ISO 15797. For an organisation with centralised laundering, that means the jacket will not have to be written off after its first cycle.
Important care note
Wash at 40 degrees, no higher. Do not bleach. Tumble drying is permitted on low. Dry cleaning is prohibited — solvent destroys the membrane.
What this is not
Professional workwear, not protective equipment. The garments are not certified to EN 343 as rain protection. Water repellency is a property of the material, not a verified waterproofing class.
